Maia Ngozi Ramsay, or “Ngozi” for short, hails from the Heartland with an allegiance to the unconventional. Her existence required an element of performance to get by. With a musical background stemming from a mere 2 years old, Ngozi was the frontwoman for the psychedelic R&B band Mann!x for four years, and received her B.F.A. in Studio Art in May of 2025, with the interdisciplinary option, focusing on photography and sculpture. Using her skills as an artist, filmmaker, director, and composer, Ngozi creates music-driven films and instillations aimed at articulating the overlap between existence and performance.
